These Are the Top-Rated Car Insurance Companies in the United States

USAA Group, NJM Insurance Group, and Amica Mutual Group stand out as the best car insurance companies in the United States, according to a new survey by Consumer Reports, a non-profit organization that helps consumers make informed purchasing decisions.

According to the survey, vehicle insurance providers such as Liberty Mutual, Kemper and Esurance fell behind and received the lowest customer satisfaction rating.

Consumer Reports collected feedback from 56,396 of their members at the end of 2020 and evaluated 47 vehicle insurance providers. The survey is mainly based on the cost of the premium, claiming process, customer services other than claims, the clarity of policy terms and proactive help.

Getting the lowest premium possible is another important thing consumers should care about when choosing a vehicle insurer. The price of the premium depends on the insurance companies, but consumers can make some smart decisions to keep the rate low.

The first one is keeping the credit and driving record clean. Insurance companies trust drivers with no record and offer them the lowest rate. For households with two or more cars, they should assign the right car to the right driver. The best car should be designated to the individual with the best driving record or someone who commutes less in the family.

Choosing the right car can also save money on insurance. Vehicles made by luxury brands cost more on insurance. Even with the same make, different models have different premium costs. A high-profile car tends to cost more than a commonplace model.
