New Charleston, South Carolina, joined Las Vegas and Folsom, California last Tuesday to become the third U.S. city hosting a digital CX delivery center for TELUS International, a Canadian company that designs, builds and delivers digital CX solutions.
The new center will bring 600 new job opportunities to North Charleston by the end of 2021 and another 600 jobs by 2022, according to a press release shared by the company. Along with the other two sites, it will continue to provide high-tech and high-touch customer experiences to companies worldwide.
“What makes North Charleston such an attractive destination for TELUS International’s first site on the East Coast is its thriving technology scene, cultural diversity, and focus on education,” said Chuck Koskovich, Chief Operating Officer of TELUS International. “Our unique caring culture is reflected in how we prioritize our team members’ experiences by customizing the spaces, benefits, and amenities at each individual location to best meet the diverse needs of our global workforce. We believe that engaged, inspired team members are the best brand ambassadors of our clients’ products and services.”
To attract talent in the region to join the team, the North Charleston delivery center plans to offer competitive salaries and benefits to employees. It will also have several amenities — such as an open-air BBQ area with a fire pit, a 24/7 gym, and a coffee shop — for employees to relax on-site.
Over the past years, TELUS International not only has been expanding to serve all stages of company growth, but also investing money for community-building in the regions it operates. Since 2015, the TELUS International Community Board has given approximately $4 million to charitable organizations. It donated $10,000 to the Teachers’ Supply Closet, a nonprofit organization that supplies educational necessities to educators in North Charleston.
